Scheduling My Homeschool Day
TIME	K-3	4-8	9-12
	This grade range requires much one on one time with parent, lessoning more and more as child learns to read. Parent will most likely follow a teacher’s manual for each subject with the main objective in getting their child reading independently. Parent will aim for proficiency in age-appropriate math facts.	This grade range requires some one on one time for new concepts in all subjects, especially math and science. Student will learn to follow written assignments and increase in independent learning. Parent will oversee daily tasks, progress and annual course expectations.	This grade range is almost completely independent, except for teaching new concepts in math and science. Parent mainly oversees work completed, organizes course expectations. As a good option, parents may contract outside help, paying a professional or using video instruction for math and science.
8 am	Rise and shine, breakfast, morning chores
8:30 am	Bible and Devotional Group Time
9 am	One on one language arts, reading, phonics using chosen curriculum teacher manuals	Independent readers: language arts, Reading, Spelling with assistance from teacher when requested	Independent assignments in chosen high school level English curriculum, help from teacher when needed
10 am	Break: PE outside or just free time
10:30 am	One on one math instruction, using chosen curriculum teacher manuals	Following assignments in chosen math curriculum with assistance from teacher when requested	Independent assignments in chosen curriculum, help from teacher when needed
11:30 am	Alternate elective like art or something else like science or history	Delight reading from age-appropriate literature book	Delight reading from high school level literature book
Noon	Dismissal okay for this level @ noon, or after lunch, teach a short subject	Lunch and free time
1 pm	IF NOT DIMISSING do a final activity for the day: could be catch up, review, more reading, science or history. DISMISS FROM 1:30 TO 2:00 PM	Science: following assignments in chosen science curriculum, completing labs, watching videos, etc. Teacher assists when requested.	Science: following assignments in high school level science curriculum, completing labs, watching videos, etc. Teacher assists when requested.
2 pm		History: following assignments in chosen history curriculum, watching videos, etc. Teacher assists when requested.	History: following assignments in chosen high school level history curriculum, watching videos, etc. Teacher assists when requested.
